Michelle Gravitt, our Founding Principal, leads all facets of project management and design at Studio M, shaping the firm's vision and strategic direction. Her philosophy of approachability with her clients allows for a collaborative experience where she expertly balances their vision while pushing the creative envelope with innovative design solutions. Michelle is a strong advocate for inclusive design, believing it is vital for creating functional interiors where every user feels comfortable and the space naturally meets their needs.

Michelle's journey in the field of design began after graduating from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh with an Associate's Degree in Residential Planning. Her career took off as she collaborated with homeowners to bring their design dreams to fruition. However, she soon realized her passion went far beyond the decoration of interiors and returned to the Art Institute to pursue a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Interior Design.

Graduating summa cum laude and receiving multiple design awards for her thesis and graduate project on Sustainable Hotel Design, Michelle completed her internship at a hospitality design firm. Here, she discovered her deep affection for Hospitality Design, both for the projects and the people.

For over a decade, Michelle advanced her career in design. First, with luxury residences, running a residential design business, and most recently, with a hospitality design and purchasing firm, building an impressive portfolio of successful projects across various industries. Her work with renowned hospitality brands such as Hilton, IHG, and Marriott International has earned her a reputation for delivering exceptional design solutions that surpass both brand standards and her client’s design expectations. Her expertise spans branded and boutique hotels to senior living projects, exclusive rooftop bars, and luxurious residential spaces.

Michelle's drive for excellence extends to her founding vision for Studio M. She is dedicated to creating a company that not only excels in design but also serves Christ in the community, particularly vulnerable women, through discipleship and support. Her deepest desire is to foster a culture that remains approachable to clients while empowering employees to thrive through collaboration and a supportive work environment.

Michelle has been happily married to her husband, David, for 23 years. Together they have three beautiful children: John, Ryan, and Anna.
